Hartman Rock Garden

What began as a modest concrete fish pond in H.G. (Ben) Hartman's backyard is now revered as a folk art masterpiece. More than 250,000 individual stones weave together history, religion, and Depression-era pop culture across a full residential lot — a scale that makes this one of America's most iconic "outsider" art sites. Fully restored by the Kohler Foundation in 2009, the Garden is open daily from dawn to dusk, free of charge.
